Islam and Muslim Culture Training

I am writing to thank you for the training that you ran recently at the Central Mosque.      I greatly enjoyed the day and despite being a regular visitor to the local Mosques I learned a great deal. Having an explanation of the buildings structures and the elements of prayer was very useful. The debate on culture and the separate nature of the faith was also very enlightening.

You will be aware that we are training all our officers and staff in Diversity Awareness ourselves. Your course was specifically of benefit to people like myself in the police, working in specialised areas. While your day covered all of may staff I would certainly recommend it to other public service organization, many of whom lack the resource to carry out large diversity training courses.

Please feel free to get back in touch if you are returning to Edinburgh as many of my partners in diversity could very well be interested in our training.

I have no doubt that we will make the biggest inroads into the scourge of racism and intolerance through working together and educating each other. In Scotland we say “We are all Jock Tamson’s bairns”. This means, beneath all the things we see ourselves as, we are all human beings first and foremost, and we need to treat each other accordingly.
