Fuad Ahmed PDF Print E-mail

Born in Bangladesh, Fuad came to the UK as a child and went to school in Oldham. He obtained a qualification in higher Islamic studies and graduated as an Islamic Scholar.  The knowledge gained on the course enhanced his understanding of Arabic syntax, etymology, logic, theology, exegesis, jurisprudence, traditions and various areas of Islamic Law. He also specialised in Shariah Law known as “Iftaa”. He later enrolled at the University of Central Lancashire and graduated with an LLB Honours Degree.

Fuad is the Head Teacher of a Supplementary School in Huddersfield, responsible for nearly 150 children who come from diverse ethnic backgrounds. He has held an Imam position in different Mosques in various towns and is currently the chief Imam of Madni Jamia Masjid Huddersfield.
Fuad is the founding member of OIYC (Oldham Islamic Youth Committee), an organization formed in 2003 to support the local youth away from drug and alcohol abuse and to help them excel in education. He has keen interest in inter-faith dialogue and proactively works to promote collaboration between the faith sector and wider society.

Fuad is also a founding member and a trustee of Al-Kawthar Welfare Foundation, a UK based charity which mainly operates in the hard to reach and most deprived areas of Bangladesh. His insight and experience of multiple-deprivation inspires him to raise funds to help alleviate poverty and promote education in the deprived regions of Bangladesh.
