In my capacity as one of the trustees of Masjid Salfia, I am writing regarding Mr Kaushar Tai who has been delivering a course on the introduction to Islam and the Muslim culture to Non-Muslim public sector professionals. I work in the prison and probation services in resettlement unit. I have worked in this for 15 years. I have also served as a councillor with Kirklees Metropolitan Council and school governor for the past 10 years.

Kaushar has been a friend of mine for over 20 years and we have also worked together at Dewsbury District Hospital Social Services Department. Therefore, I know him not only as a friend but also as a professional colleague.

Kaushar is active in many initiatives in his voluntary capacity including undertaking charity overseas. He is active in Inter-faith dialogue and is currently the Co-Chairman of North Kirklees Inter-Faith Council representing the Muslim communities.

I have observed Kaushar doing the course at the Salfia Masjid for Teachers of Westborough High School of which I am Governor. My observation of Kaushar has been positive and has led me to think that this is something that we should have been doing ever since we arrived in the UK. I am very pleased with his presentation style and clear methods of informing Non-Muslims about Islam.

If you are proposing to consider allowing Kaushar to do the course at your Masjid, then I have no hesitation in recommending him to you, knowing that he will act with integrity, honesty and with your co operation.
