Dear Kaushar Re “An Introduction to Islam and the Muslim Culture Course”
Just a brief note to say ‘ThankYou’ for facilitating the course on 13 September at The Markazi Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith Mosque in Small Heath Birmingham. The course gave the participants a valuable insight into the faith of Islam and what it means to be a practicing Muslim. It was a wonderful opportunity to share ideas and thoughts in a totally open forum with questions welcomed and answered in a friendly, honest and informative way.
I now feel I have a greater understanding of the principles and values of the Islamic Faith and can begin to demystify some of the misconceptions that surrounded certain issues such as Jihad and the status of women, and unravel the differences between religion and culture. The structure of the day was well planned and as well as giving us food for the soul, gave us a wonderful selection of food for the person. It was a privilege to be allowed to observe at the call to prayer, and wonderful to see so many of the faithful attending even as so busy a time of the day. My thanks to the Imam for allowing us to attend the daily prayers and for his time spent with us reading from the Holy Quran, also to the management committee for their hospitality and kindness. Finally my thanks to you Kaushar, for providing us with this opportunity to build stronger and stronger bridges within our communities. I whole-heartedly recommend this days training to all who can gain access to it and will certainly be looking for the chance to share this experience with a wider audience from our organization.
